"Pearl Jam"は"grunge rock"の有名なバンドとして知られていますが、
米国では1960年代序盤から1970年代終盤に生まれた世代を『Generation X』と呼んでおり
その世代の持つ問題点を代弁するアーティストとして
高い支持を得ています。
"Bruce Springsteen"と共通する存在感ですが、彼とはまた違う社会性を持っています。
この曲は"DV-domestic violence"で破綻したカップルの男性の嘆きの歌なのです。
