ひじょうに有名な"We are the world"はQuincy JonesとMichael Jacksonが
がっちり組んだプロジェクトです。
作曲はMichaelとLionel Richieの共著となっています。
実はこの前年1984年にこのような大々的なミュージシャンのチャリティーイベントは
"Bob Geldof"によって立ち上げられた"Band Aid's"~ "Do They Know It's Christmas?"
が英国で開催されていてそちらが先です。
"We are the world"は"Band Aid's"に触発され、同じくアフリカの兇状に貢献すべく
おこなわれたのです。
プロジェクトの背景を描いた
ムービーです。
楽曲としてはとてもシンプルなメロディーでありきたりの曲のように思われる方も
いると思いますが、
この曲は各ソロパートをそれぞれのアーティストが自分のスタイルを
組み込んでも違和感ないようになることを意識してつくられています。
